SAN ANTONIO (April 11, 2017) – The American Hockey League announced today that A.J. Greer of the San Antonio Rampage has been selected as the winner of the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award as the 2016-17 IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year
Before he scored in the Buffalo Sabres' 2-1 win against the Detroit Red Wings on Monday, center Jack Eichel was asked what he would take away from this season. He didn't talk about how he had come back from a high-ankle sprain sustained the day before the season opener to become one of the most productive players in the NHL.
Despite the puck not finding the back of the net, Rangers forward Jimmy Vesey said he was pleased with the way he has been performing over the last several weeks.
The 23-year-old has appeared in 71 of the Rangers' first 72 games during his rookie campaign, and said there was relief when he capitalized on a rebound opportunity in the second period Saturday in Minnesota, which was his first goal in 15 games.
